Student organizations have requested more events centered around them in order to recruit and engage with the campus community. Our organization was tasked with creating a fresh, new idea that would put the student clubs and orgs at the forefront, but would also have enough of a draw to attract students who might have not been interested in joining a club. Club Fest was an involvement fair disguised as a night market, featuring over 50 student organizations recruiting and engaging students, eight food vendors handing out samples and over $1,000 in prizes and giveaways. The theme of a night market was pitched to the student organizations over the course of two months, constantly meeting with them to ensure their accomodations and requests were met. We created “Passports” with all the different organizations in attendance and encouraged students to speak with them and sign up for more information. The more clubs they spoke to, the more prizes they were eligible to win. “Travel Brochures” were also handed out that included tickets to exchange for different food samples from the various vendors at the event.
